RED DOOR KITCHEN CAN DRIVE

Hurrah for kindergarteners for the huge effort to help others in need with a can collection through the RED DOOR KITCHEN, a local charity in Talladega.

Each class worked for weeks trying to reach the magic number of 100. This project was wrapped up on the 100th day of school (TODAY!) Other grade levels were invited to participate.

A little friendly competition never hurt anyone and the final score was...

That's a lot of cans AND cooperation. A special thanks to parents and grandparents who lent a hand in the donation and collection process.

I am proud of my teachers for using math curriculum to celebrate a milestone in the kindergarten year and help children learn how wonderful it feels to help others.
