Thank you to all parents who joined PTO last night at Open House! It is very encouraging to see that so many of you care and want to have a voice in your children's future at Young! Some of you were under the impression that PTO would take up a lot of your time. I wanted to clear that up.
The majority of what is asked of a member is simply a vote! As a parent, I know I would like to have a voice in how money I helped raise is spent. It is a fact that the more a parent is involved in their child's school, the more successful he or she is in school.
If you did not get a chance to sign up last night, it's not to late! We will send home forms next week! We look forward to working with you and continuing to make R.L. Young "Simply the Best"!
Hope B. Allen

A parent asked if she could join PTO at a later time because she was unable to come to the Meet and Greet.
Membership is open all year long and you can join at any meeting or send in $5 in an envelope with a note that you want to be a PTO member. Be sure to include your name and your child's name so they can put an apple on the membership tree in the lunchroom. Members have voting rights when money needs to be used for school projects.
