2013 Medal Ceremony Wednesday, Sept. 18

September 14, 2013

Dear Parents of R. L. Young 4th, 5th, 6th, and this year's Zora Ellis 7th Graders,

You are cordially invited to attend a Medal Ceremony to recognize our students' testing accomplishments in the auditorium on September 18th beginning at 1:00 p.m. The children being honored scored two 4's, a 3 and 4, or two 3's on the Alabama Reading and Math Test. We will also be honoring fifth grade students who scored a 3 or 4 on the Science Assessment.
As principal, I have enjoyed going over the test results with every class. You should have already received your child's home report.
The students were encouraged to share the results with you.
Now it is time to formally show our appreciation of their efforts.

Please note that there will be limited seating and you may have to stand. But come anyway because we are SO proud of our students. If your child is new to R. L. Young, but took the ARMT at another school, they, too will receive a medal. They earned it!

There is a TEAM Effort at Young and your child is an important part of the team. You can feel it when you walk in our doors.

See you there!

p.s.If your child tested at our school but is no longer with us, please contact the school if you wish for them to be a part of this recognition ceremony.

You may wonder why 3rd grade parents are not invited. Their child will take the state test for the first time THIS year.
