Golden Flake Factory= Happy Kids

Fifth graders took a field trip to Golden Flake Factory in Birmingham this week. Since their principal did not go on the trip, I asked reporters Meagan W., Natalie M., and Allison W. to share their experience. They had this to say about the trip:

Meagan- We arrived at the factory, divided into 3 groups, and watched a unique movie. Everyone had to then don a hairnet, including the teachers and parents.

Allison-Each group went with a sweet and knowledgable tour guide. They took us to different sections of the factory. Some of the sections were "potato chips", "cheese puffs", "cheese curls", "pork skins", and "nacho chips". We got bags and bags of yummy chip samples. It was the best! Natalie got 6 bags!

Natalie- On the tour we got to see how they made chips. We got to sample fresh, salty, hot chips. The spices that were in the factory were strong-smelling!

All 3 Girls:
After leaving the factory we went to the Pizza Hut in Leeds for lunch. The salad bar was the BEST! The pizza was delicious. The most important thing about this trip was that we had fun together as a family.

Watch for additional pictures and information from this trip soon!

I like how this blog features children, their thoughts, and their writing. Whenever I read what is written here, it just further confirms my opinion that this is an outstanding school.
