Fun with Dr. Seuss Day 2012

Mrs. Lane is ready in the library for Dr. Seuss' birthday .

Look close and you will see R. L. Young's principal hiding among the students. She had the pleasure of reading "Oh, the Places You Will Go" by Dr. Seuss. Such a fitting book for our 6th graders.

Sgt. Patrick Thornton took time out of his busy day to read to 2nd graders.
Former R. L. Young student and son of computer assistant, Rebecca Beard read to 4th grade. We are not sure who had the most fun!

Students did various activities to celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday. Charisma McK. wrote a poem in her journal to commemorate the special day.
The Cat in the Hat is coming to town.
The Cat in the Hat is hanging around.
The Cat in the Hat is going to see what the thing's have in store, for you and me.
Thing 1 and 2 are proud of you!
Oh the places you'll go, because of the things you know.
You'll pass the fastest horse in a race, going at your slowest pace!

First graders decorated hats with SAVE THE PLANET tips, and 2nd graders created hats, too.
Honor Roll Assembly was made special as each class shared a favorite Dr. Seuss quote. Thanks to our teachers for helping this learn the quotes and sharing books by this wonderful author.
